A very special pairing created by one of our favourite foodies @anotherfoodblogger
Gavin expertly created a sensational pairing for The Vagabond Grenache - a heavenly recipe for Moroccan Roast Lamb Leg, Cous Cous & Pomegranate Salsa.
'Our Grenaches are packed with beautiful aromatics, and I often liken them to walking through a Moroccan souk. It’s logical then that perhaps the best food matches for Vagabond Grenache have their inspiration in North Africa. Subtly spiced, warm, exotic and multi-layered, dishes such as this slow cooked lamb dish possess that same combination of comfort, excitement and elegance that we seek in our wines. It’s a generous dish, best shared with good friends in an informal environment and that’s how we love you to experience our wines'.

Like lots of flavoursome recipes, this takes some time to cook yet the preparation is quick and straightforward and the eating sublime. We believe smoking the ribs really gives them an edge however the recipe can be adapted to simply BBQing if you are not a fan of the smoky depth the chips impart to the meat. A special Festive pairing created by @another_food_blogger
Gavin created this pairing for Gorgeous Grenache with festive meals in mind. Glazed Chicken (Orange, Cranberry & Balsamic). You could even toss your veggie sides (carrots/ brussel sprouts) in the glaze, or baste a whole cauliflower for the non-meat eaters.
So versatile plus you can add all your family favourite accompaniments for Turkey/ Chicken, or search his website for inspiration.
For those looking for something a little gastronomic, one of our favourite all time dishes for Grenache is 'Ottolenghi’s Beef Meatballs with Broad Beans & Lemon'. A simple looking dish but relatively time consuming to cook.
There are similarities with how we’d like our wines to be perceived. Superficially appealing and delicious, but with hidden layers and depths of flavour.
The perfect match for this wine is our Sands of Time Single Vineyard Grenache which, while immediately enjoyable, reveals layers of texture and flavour given a little time in glass. Both are life affirming and utterly delicious – as all wine and food should be.
'I fail to think about wine without thinking what I'd like to eat with it. Years of travelling around Spain, where food and wine are so inextricably interwoven, have nurtured this holistic belief. It is a set of beliefs that lie behind all we do at Thistledown.'
